Deane’s handmade Souper Good gumbos and soups are part of an ever expanding repertoire. The menu below describes soups frozen by the quart, but not every soup is available every week. To see what’s cooking this week, click the button below. The menu is updated on Thursday mornings.

Gumbos & Soups

Our handmade gumbos, soups and spreads feature locally sourced key ingredients from our farming neighbors in the Philly area. We offer at least one vegan option a week and our soups are gluten free, with the exception of our award-winning gumbos which are flavor boosted with copper colored wheat flour roux.

  • Chicken & Andouille Gumbo

    With a nod to a Delta staple, this award winning gumbo includes a variety of baby mustards green from Everwild Farms (Ambler, PA.) Deane cooks flour and oil lo’ and slo’ for a coppery brown roux, adds smoked tasso and local andouille sausage from Leidey’s (Souderton, PA) and the result is dinner. All you have to bring to the feast is your favorite rice.

  • Wild Gulf Shrimp & Andouille Gumbo

    Lumps of wild Gulf shrimp, shrimp stock, clam stock, andouille sausage, locally grown collard and mustard greens, okra, tasso and Deane’s coppery roux — all the essentials for a great gumbo. All you have to do is add your favorite rice. YUM.

  • Roasted Duck Gumbo

    A Louisiana classic made with duck stock, Leidey’s andouille sausage, collard greens, okra, tasso and Deane’s coppery roux — grab this when it’s available, it doesn’t come around often!

  • Black-eyed Pea, Ham & Turnip Greens

    We couldn’t leave our Delta influences behind, but we source our greens locally from our neighbors at the East Falls Farmers Market - McCann’s Farm.

  • Chicken & White Bean Chili

    Flavored with a spicy chili house blend, and loaded with slow braised chicken, this flavor packed dish is not too hot, but it aint tame chili! Grab some saltines!

  • Carrot & Orange Soup (vegan)

    Fabulous vegan soup served cold right out of the frig! Carrots locally grown at Ever Wild Farm in Ambler, PA. A wonderfully fresh summer treat!

  • Chicken Green Chili Enchilada

    All of the ingredients of classic enchiladas turned into a spicy-cheesy soup.

  • Curried Butternut Squash

    Simple, fresh ingredients - blended butternut squash, onions, spices, a little miso — make a smooth soup.

  • French Green Lentil with Merguez

    Earthy and peppery French Lentil soup with a Moroccan style Lamb sausage seasoned with roasted red peppers and warm spices

  • Minestrone

    Sauteed pancetta, tomatoes, beans, lots of fresh locally grown vegetables, italian herbs and spices and a touch of parmesan cheese. Pull out the big spoons!

  • Potato Leek

    A velvety soup made from creamy russet potatoes and green leeks simmered in chicken stock with garlic and herbs. Add a little cream and serve it cold and you’ve got Vichyssoise!

  • Roasted Turkey Wild Rice Soup

    Due to it’s popularity, this hearty, creamy soup is made every week. It’s thick with turkey and wild rice and finished with toasted sesame oil to bring out the nuttiness of the rice.

  • Spinach Avocado Soup

    Fresh spinach and arugula from our friends at the Farmers Market, with a creamy addition (and otherwise secret ingredient) of avocado. A bright Spring dinner tonic!

  • Sweet Potato Peanut

    A vegan soup that’s loved by omnivores. This West African style soup has a little sweetness from the sweet potato and a little heat from cayenne, with tomato, fresh kale and a dash of natural peanut butter.

  • Szechwan Carrot Soup

    Szechwan peppercorns give this smooth and creamy soup it’s punch. Made with fresh carrots, onion, coconut milk and a silky dose of peanut butter.

  • Tomato, White Bean & Fennel

    A great spring or summer vegetable soup with whole white beans simmered with tomatoes, white fennel and fresh Italian seasonings.

  • Tom Kha Gai

    Rich and creamy this Thai coconut chicken soup is spicy hot & sour. Serve it with Jasmine rice and share with friends!

  • Tom Kha Tofu*

    Our *vegan version of our popular Thai coconut soup flavored with fried tofu, mushrooms, hot chilis and cilantro. Great with quinoa.

  • Thai Lentil (vegan)

    A creamy, spicy coconut soup. Made with red lentils, fresh lemongrass, kaffir, & coconut aminos (for that unidentifiable YUM factor.)

  • Tuscan Bean, Kale & Fennel

    Like the Italian classic, Ribollita, this hearty bean canallini bean soup is made with locally grown spinach (McCann’s Farm, NJ) and kale from Clean Green Growers (Sellersville, PA)

  • White Bean Chicken Chili

    Medium spicy Deane’s spice blend of New Mexico, chipotle, arbol pepper, poblano pepper, roasted chicken, dark chocolate and masa.
